Meetu Hair Care

General Care

We don’t recommend excessive washing of any of our hair textures.
As a result, limit the use of hairspray and other hair care products to avoid product build-up. To further protect your extensions, we recommend the following guidelines:
• Minimize heat use and ALWAYS use a heat protestant when heat styling.
• Seal wefts with weft sealant to reduce shedding.
• Never cut or sew through the weft.
• To extend your hair’s longevity, install extensions on a U-Part or lace front wig.

Recommended Styling Steps

• Detangle
• Co-Wash (Using Only a Moisture-rich Conditioner)
• Air Dry (or Blow Dry Using the Lowest Heat Setting)
• Style with Minimal Heat

Detangling

Detangle hair while dry using your fingers followed by a wide-tooth comb. Use a paddle brush to smooth hair and style as desired.

Washing

Co-washing with a moisture-rich conditioner is strongly recommended. Frequently washing your hair with shampoo will strip your extensions of moisture and cause them to dry out faster. Should you feel the need to wash your hair due to product build-up, use a clarifying shampoo and follow these steps: detangle, lather hair with shampoo, wash your hair in a downwards motion and avoid
excessively rubbing the hair together to minimize tangling. Then, rinse thoroughly.

Deep Conditioning

We recommend deep conditioning your hair extensions every 2-3 weeks.
Always apply deep conditioner after washing with a clarifying shampoo and rinse with cold water.

Drying

Always air dry when possible. When air drying is not feasible, use a diffuse attachment on your hair dyer with the heat at the lowest possible setting. Too much heat will loosen the curls.

If the hair is on a u-part cap, place the wig flat to plop curls for 1 hour. Then, hang the wig on a mannequin head to dry.

If the hair is sewn in, pile the hair on top of your head like a pineapple, wrap it in a cotton shirt, and allow it dry for approximately 90 minutes.

Styling

Use a moisturizing leave-in conditioner and/or a nickel size amount of argon oil on damp hair.
We strongly recommend allowing the hair to air dry undisturbed, however, if that is not possible,
use a hair dryer on low heat with a heat protestant. If you feel that the hair is dry, use argon oil. Style as desired.
To prevent product build-up, avoid using heavy/too much product

Curly Hair General Care

Our My Curly Hair collection is tightly coiled to mimic 4c hair textures. Just like our own hair, curly hair will tangle from time to time. However, tangles are easily smoothed with a light spritz of water and leave-in conditioner and the use of a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. To further protect your extensions, we recommend the following guidelines:
• Never sleep with your hair wet.
• Minimize heat use. Excessive heat styling can alter your curl pattern over time.
• Seal wefts with a weft sealant to reduce shedding.
• After swimming, use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner immediately. Minimize exposure to salt water or chlorine.
• To extend your hair’s longevity, install extensions on a U-Part of full Lace wig

Curling

Our textures were designed to be worn as you receive them. However, the texture holds curls best with a combination of heat and non-heat methods including flexible rods and curl wands.
To curl with flexible rods: style on dry or wet hair, add argon oil, flexible rod to style.
To curl with a curl wand: use heat protestant and curl to desired style.

Using Heat

You may blow dry, curl or straighten your extensions, however, please keep in mind that just like your own hair, excessive and/or frequent use of heat will dry out and/or damage your hair. Minimizing the use of heat will increase the longevity of your human hair extensions.

Dyeing Hair

Meetu hair will arrive in their natural black/brown hair color and can be dyed any color you’d like.
However, we strongly recommend consulting a professional hair stylist before dyeing or color-treating your hair

Going to bed

Use the pineapple method to secure hair.
Pineapple Method: bend forward, gather hair gently. and secure with a scrunchies into a LOOSE ponytail - not too tight or the scrunchies will leave a dent.
